02 · Color

03 · Typography

Two typefaces, used with restraint

DM Serif Display for headlines and pull quotes. Manrope for everything else, with SemiBold for buttons and labels.

Headline · DM Serif Display

Therapy That Sees the Whole You

Pull quote · DM Serif Display Italic

Culturally rooted. Clinically grounded.

Body · Manrope Regular

Culturally responsive care means creating a space where you can talk about not only your symptoms, but also the experiences that shape your well-being.

04 · Shapes and line art

Soft, organic, and editorial

Pill buttons, softly rounded cards, arched portraits, and a blob for hero moments. Gold line-art botanicals and rings add warmth. No shadows, thin rules only.

Arch. For people: therapists, clients, portraits.
Blob. For hero moments only, with a sage backdrop.
Soft corners. For spaces, wide shots, and blog covers.

05 · Photography

Real people, warm rooms

Black and BIPOC people in calm, sunlit spaces with wood, plants, and terracotta. Natural expressions, never staged handshakes or clinical white offices. Every photo gets descriptive alt text.

06 · Motion

Calm, slow, and purposeful

Motion guides the eye; it never performs. Nothing bounces or spins, and visitors who ask their device to reduce motion see everything without movement.

  • Rise

Text fades up about 2rem over one second as it scrolls into view.

  • Line reveal

Headlines slide up from behind their own edge, line by line.

  • Wipe up

Photos are revealed from the bottom inside their frame, with a slow settle.

  • Draw

Gold line art draws itself once, on load or on scroll.

  • Parallax

Photos drift gently within their frame while scrolling.

  • Float

Gold rings and dots float slowly; blobs change shape over 18 seconds.

07 · Voice

How we sound

“Therapy That Sees the Whole You.” Culturally rooted, clinically grounded, and always human.

We do

  • Warm, direct, and plain. Aim for an 8th-grade reading level.
  • Name real experiences: code-switching, family expectations, racism, faith.
  • Low-pressure next steps. “It’s a conversation, not a commitment.”
  • US spelling, the serial comma, sentence case for headings, Title Case for buttons.

We don’t

  • Promise outcomes or use clinical jargon without explaining it.
  • Use exclamation marks in headings.
  • Stack booking buttons. One button per section, at most.
  • Show prices, steps, or names we have not confirmed.
