Meet Jimmy Meant

As a dedicated mental health counselor, Haitian American male, and combat veteran specializing in trauma recovery and relationship healing, I help individuals, especially fellow veterans, reclaim their sense of safety, confidence, and inner connection. My lived experience allows me to bring cultural understanding, resilience, and authenticity into the therapeutic space, creating a level of trust that many clients say they’ve never felt before.

I am passionate about supporting those who feel stuck in cycles of hurt, self-doubt, emotional disconnection, or communication breakdown. I guide clients as they rediscover their strength, rebuild self-awareness, and learn healthier ways to relate to themselves and the people they care about. I understand the nuanced challenges faced by veterans, men of color, individuals navigating identity, and those strained by family or relationship conflict.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally affirming. I empower clients to understand their emotional patterns, heal past wounds, and break generational or behavioral cycles that no longer serve them. Whether working through military-related trauma, childhood trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds, identity issues, or complex relationship concerns, I offer steady support and practical strategies clients can use in their daily lives.

With a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and extensive experience supporting diverse communities, I am committed to creating a grounded, safe, and judgment-free environment where clients feel seen, respected, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. My goal is to help individuals feel more emotionally regulated, self-assured, and deeply connected to themselves and to those they love and care about.
